Welcome

The 2nd International Conference on AI for Science (AI4Sci 2026) follows up on the first event of this kind in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in September 2025. The conference focuses on all aspects of artificial intelligence applications in and for science. It will be organized in four tracks :

  • AI4Physics
  • AI4Chemistry & Materials
  • AI4LifeSciences
  • AI4Humanities & Social Sciences

AI4Sci 2026 will feature keynotes, one for each track, and contributed talks. Contributed talks are based on abstract submissions (see the tab on “Call for Papers”). A book of abstracts will be shared at the conference, but it will not appear as formal proceedings. As the book of abstracts will not be archival, you can also submit an abstract with content that has been published elsewhere.

AI4Sci 2026 is part of the AI4Science Week taking place in Mainz and co-located with the 29th International Conference on Discovery Science (DS 2026), which has a focus on AI methods for science (not applications, like AI4Sci 2026 does). In contrast to AI4Sci 2026, the Discovery Science conference will be based on full papers, which will be peer-reviewed, and, if accepted, published as Springer lecture notes, with the possibility of later publication in a special issue of Machine Learning journal.
